Donatello is one of Brighton's best-loved family-run Italian restaurants — a bustling, characterful space that has been welcoming diners for years. When the team decided it was time to refresh the interior, they wanted something that would anchor the room and give guests something to look at, talk about, and remember. They came to Green Envee with a specific vision: a large, statement centrepiece that felt authentically Italian, added warmth and personality, and held its own in a busy, high-energy dining environment. A beautiful large artificial olive tree was the natural choice.

Finding the perfect fit for a much-loved, high-footfall space

Restaurants are demanding environments for any interior element. A centrepiece plant in a busy dining room needs to look stunning from every angle, hold up against constant footfall, and require absolutely no upkeep from an already stretched front-of-house team. For a family-run restaurant with a strong identity and loyal customer base, authenticity also mattered — the tree needed to feel like it genuinely belonged in the space, not like an afterthought. Scale was equally important. Too small and it would be lost amongst the energy of a full restaurant. Too large and it would overwhelm. Getting the balance exactly right was key.

Green Envee supplied a large, premium artificial olive tree, carefully selected for its natural, characterful shape and lifelike detailing. Positioned as the focal point of the restaurant, it immediately draws the eye and brings a warmth and authenticity to the space that real plants simply couldn't sustain in a busy commercial dining environment. No watering, no leaf drop, no seasonal changes. Just a beautiful, lasting centrepiece that guests notice from the moment they walk through the door.
